Sach...Sachin.. and me at office. Adieu to a Legend of the Game

Why sachin is loved so much by the whole country in respect to his colleagues like Ganguly or Dravid or any other great cricketer of the country? Because, he was the silent killer... who never resorted to provocation on the field or off the field.. Though Ganguly infused aggressiveness in the team taken ahead by Dhoni... Sachin silenced his critics and only concentrated on his game... and did what he was there for all this time.. enjoy his play that became his vocation of life... Also his soft speech and clean image did the trick.

Though I must admit that his colleague Dravid received less tribute and attention than him as he was the Wall for the team in difficult times and played various roles, also of a wicket keeper when required of him.

A Lot has been said and written about him from the time he came into the cricket scene... and from past few days, tributes have been flowing in for the great man. The story about him is true that the trains would leave from the station only after he would complete his century, for I have personally witnessed it. What more was special about him that made him the favourite of all and that India has literally got emotional when he started playing his last test match?

Such was the emotion that all offices and corporate firms had kept their TV on when he reached 50 for the last time and during his last moments on the field. I had even asked my boss of my Company-LetsNurture to start the TV on, but unfortunately, the cable wire lost at the wrong time and when it was found... sach had already got out.

I think I have got the answer, the answer lies professional integrity and commitment towards one's game. My Boss at LetsNurture always gives two words to inspire his team-Commitment and dedication. That's what set him apart from others  with his self control on provocations, ability to handle pressure of million fans and the discipline to keep on playing after more than 20 years of cricket.

A sportsman life is limited to 15 years at the most, but Sachin kept on playing by staying fit all the time with discipline. He perfected himself early on in the game as the stories go that he would practice on the terrace of the hotel as a teenager to perfect his game and would also dream about cricket in his sleep as well.. Despite of all fame and adulations and money, has the world any time come across of any news of sachin misbehaving?

Sachin accepted every decision of the umpires without arguing, when he was aware that he had been given out wrongly in the game. He gave a true meaning to the gentleman's game. Lots of bowlers like Shane Warne, Akhtar, McGrath and others tried to bully him but instead, he bullied them by playing in the right way he knows. He gave the importance of Time Commitment to his team members as well-something  which my company-LetsNurture also believes in and has taught me so.

He also taught Humility by his actions. Before each series, he would go to his coach, Mr. Achrekar, who taught him the nuances of the game to take his blessings and would talk to old friends very often and never displayed arrogance anywhere.

24 years in the international game is not a short time... plus all his other years spent in perfecting the game and matches in the Ranji Trophy.

He came at the right time to fill up the void left by Gavaskar and leaving at the time when there is enough talent in the team.

In the end.. Only one thing.. Thank you Sach. You made my childhood feel good.

Double Contradictions!

It is Diwali Time
Time to go home back again
Time to enjoy the rare 4 days of official leave from office.
Time to Enjoy with family and friends
Time to Relax.

Yet, as this day begins to commence on Friday, the first of November 2013, and the Dhanteras as I know, I have mixed feelings coming up inside me.

I somehow do not want to to go back to my home-Baroda for some unknown or known reasons, I am not able to comprehend. It is time to spend some time with family and they have been calling me since past 10 days, but somehow, there is a reluctance in me to go back again. Why?

Maybe, because I or we have lost the thrill of enjoying some short holidays like this one and only enjoy ourselves during the so called holiday 'weekend'? Maybe, because we have started becoming office robots or virtual robots that our mechanism does not accept plugging off for some time? Maybe because we have lost the ability to accept the unknown in our coming days?

Or Maybe because we have become accustomed to enjoy with our colleagues during the 12 hours of the day that we are together? The other side of contradiction that I have begin to notice is that there is also a hurry to reach home. Home, away from the usual chatter and noise of the everyday life and enjoy the peace and quite of our regular surroundings for some time.

We somehow make plans to do this and do that during our short vacation-whether Diwali or something else, but somehow end up doing only 40 to 50% of the work determined. We have many travel plans and hopes to enjoy with our friends and family and so want to go home quickly and soon.

Then Why this Contradiction !?

Only time can tell.

Am I the only Idiot who feels this way or some of you also feel that?

Happy Diwali by the way

I am at.... or he is at...or this person is at....

Does it matter?

I mean... we often see people posting status on their social media accounts like Facebook or Twitter or other social forums...that they are at a particular place... but how does that matter to anyone else or the third person in particular other than their family?

It is fine if they are really at a famous place or a popular place that they post status like " kj is at..Taj Hotel...or mahal.
ya fine... good.. but does it really matter if they are at any random place and they post that status via their smartphone?

No, I dont think so... who has the time to really mind about who is at which place...
Just a normal waste of time...

Do what is right but be pure

Hear my voice Hard it is to be born,
Hard it is to live,Harder still to hear of the way,
And hard to rise, follow, and awaken.
Yet the reaching is simple.Do what is right. Be pure.
At the end of the way is freedom.Till then, patience.
If you wound or grieve another,You have not learned detachment.
Offend in neither word nor deed.
Eat with moderation.Live in your heart.
Seek the highest consciousness.Master yourself according to the dharma.
This is the simple teaching of the awakened.
The rain could turn to gold And still your thirst would not be slaked.
Desire is unquenchable Or it ends in tears, even in heaven.
He who wishes to awaken Consumes his desires joyfully.

Rarely do I put down someone's lines or quotes here, but I found this to my liking and some value

making an impact?

What do you do when you are visited by someone to inspect you or your firm or institution ? What do you do to impress them that they give you some stars and grants?
You try every rule in the book to impress them and earn accolades.

Thats what one of ex-famous or once upon a time famous now in-famous institution of learning did this month.... yes, am talking about the M.S.University of Baroda which was once famous for learning and now also it is famous but for all the wrong reasons.

The university was visited by a "Naac Team" which is supposed to give accreditation or grants to colleges and asses the performance last week.

And as usual before the team came... the college which in regular days was a dustbin literally or in garbage condition was spotlessly clean and the pale buildings were painted and all the dust cleaned to give a good impression. Even the classrooms which were  literally like store rooms were so clean that the students could hardly believe their eyes that this is the university they are studying in.Overnight the parking facilities came in place where earlier the students could park their vehicles wherever they could please to.

And now comes the fun part. It is reported that the team though impressed by the outer cleanliness was not impressed with the inner 'person' of the college . In the presentation given by the vice chancellor , he gave importance on its history and how it was made on which the team was irritated and asked him straight on what was the achievements of past 4 years and what would be the future agenda or plans of the university. You just can not go on with your past always. The team which was just to visit 2 faculties then formed a team and decided to visit other faculties as well.

The way mockery was made by the team on the university , if it continues in future, I am sure that the day is not too far when the college would be deprived of grants and other basic amenities.

see ya guys...
