If you are wondering what the other words mean in my title blog, it means the same thing in German as in English written first.
Why did I mention this? No, I am not going to give any lecture on philosophy. I will just share my thoughts.
Personal experienced thoughts!
It happened in June last year. Jaundice. This bugger of a dis-ease generally goes away in 10 days or at the most 15 days but it fell in love with me and decided to stay longer... much longer.
As July came, I was compelled to get admitted for a few days in a nearby clinic. Medicines, rest and some reading... I thought it would get over soon. But life had other plans.
One fine afternoon, I felt a tremendous pain in my stomach after a meal. A pain so unbearable and my body became so humid and hot that they had to keep the AC on 18, so intense, that I felt it was time for me to pack up for good. Then they called an ambulance and got me shifted to a bigger hospital.
For 2-3 days, I was in ICU before being shifted to a private room. Those 3 days in ICU made me come upfront to the big truth - 'What Life is'. Of course, it did do me some good. It made me lighter from 80 kg to 50 kg in just a week. Now I am back to being little heavier.
While in the hospital, there was a neighbor of mine-a co-patient if you will, aged. I got to know that he had planned to go on a trip to Nepal, but came for a pre tour checkup and found himself a heart blockage. Another one was reading a newspaper, coughed and fainted. On checking, he found a big gap in his brain. Curable of course, but dementia prone. My grandfather, all healthy, suddenly passed away 22 years ago in his sleep.
I won't go into the details as promised but yes, it has changed my outlook of life for sure. I have turned into a semi recluse, began taking life day by day. I don't plan months in advance but only a week from now or even less, don't take things personally, listen more rather than speaking and have become less argumentative.
Now situations and things surprise me very less.
Because life is unpredictable.
