A few days back, I went to a local roadside eatery, known as the 'Laari' selling Vadapav aka the Burger of the west, outside my ex-college.
It was raining heavily and people were searching for temporary shelter.
A young man in his early twenties - A rag picker with a huge cloth bag around his back passed by. As it was the afternoon time, I went up to him and offered to buy him a vadapav or two.
I expected a quick positive response given my past everyday experiences of these people.
However, to my surprise, he politely declined my offer saying he's already had his breakfast and he would prefer to have his lunch at a local temple nearby. Besides, he does not prefer Fast Foods such as this.
On asking his name, he replied that he was known as Santosh - Meaning, 'Contentment'. True to his name, he stuck to his values.
It also gave me a life lesson. Contentment and to stay away from Fast Food as long as possible.
